Magic and Liberty at AZEMAD

Welcome Marlene Sousa and Anna Casarramona!

The 8th of March 2019 celebrates the International Women’s Day and also the beginning of a partnership between AZEMAD and two of the world´s best female Roller Hockey players - Marlene ´Magic' Sousa, player of Sport Lisboa e Benfica, and Anna´Liberty' Casarramona, player for CP Manlleu. These two players, who are hoping to be at the World Roller Games Barcelona 2019 sponsored by AZEMAD Sport, stated their ambition and enthusiasm about being part of this new family.

Marlene Sousa, who as AZEMAD is also from Oliveira de Azeméis, highlighted the "very special meaning for joining AZEMAD on this Women’s Day, in a time when gender differences are getting smaller", while Anna Casarramona was enthusiastic and mentioned the "dedication and how forward thinking it is to make exclusive and personalized equipment for female hockey players".

Both players, who constantly fight to win titles for their clubs and national teams, addressed the future of the sport: "It is progressing every day, also because women are making a way and giving life to the sport" says Casarramona pointing out that the "sport has no gender". Marlene who´s also pleased with this evolution, she highlighted "(...) the Intercontinental Cup that was first played this season" and not forgetting about next season´s new opponent, " the announcement of the participation of Sporting Clube de Portugal, the competition will be even more attractive and will grow the sport" she concluded.

Encouraged to talk about their choice of customization of their brand images - Magic and Liberty - Marlene, who holds hockey as "a passion that grows day after day", speaks of the "game´s magic and unpredictability and what a player can do with a stick is magical". The detail of colors used in the stick, which will be available soon, were also not taken lightly since they "have a special meaning, (...) the Olympic Rings were of major importance to me to enter the pavilion and put the on skates on for the first time", stated the Portuguese player.

Anna Casarramona justifies the "need that people have, and more specifically women, to feel free and to be able to think and do what they like best", as a choice for the name. The Falcon stands for the grip and freedom that defines the player. AZEMAD wishes that this partnership brings more magic and freedom to roller hockey and wishes the two players success.
