First Edition – 1947 Cup

The first edition of the 1947 Cup aims to honor the first European and World conquest of the Portuguese team

The first edition of the 1947 Cup kicks off today, December 9, which intends to honor the first conquest of  World Champion and European Champion title, at the Pavilhão dos Desportos (Carlos Lopes), in Lisbon, on May 23, 1947 .

In a phase of great challenges for sport, the Portuguese Skating Federation launches in 2020/21 the 1947 Cup that intends to advocate the continued growth, innovation, success and excellence of Portuguese roller hockey, as well as the first world champion team and from europe, 73 years ago.

The Official Competition Stick presented by FPP was produced by AZEMAD, which is associated with the homage to the World and European Champions of 1947, invoking the past but also reflecting the future.

The competition will have its stage in Mealhada and joins the first eight classified, after the end of the first round of the national championship – Sporting CP, OC Barcelos, UD Oliveirense, SL Benfica, AD Valongo, SC Tomar, Juventude de Viana and AD Sanjoanense – FC Porto saw their absence confirmed after suspension from training due to the appearance of cases of covid-19 in their squad.
